Ok, I'm kinda looking at maybe getting a new car and I have found a few and I've posted them.
My current car:
2008 Mustang V6 simple bolt on's and a tuner.
Also some Appearance dress-up.
So my Question to you guys:
Take my dads car which is this:
2011 Mustang GT Premium it was a special order but it wasnt by us so its got just about all boxes ticked like nav, heated seats, and special interior (fancy stripe down the center) also its an auto. I will be getting the BOSS 302 H-Pipe exhaust and some mufflers for it if I do decide to take it.
OR Say get a Terminator or something?
I'm looking right now for one because it won't be like a right now thing but kinda in the future.
So what say you oppo?

I would take the one from your dad, by a long shot. You know its condition, you've probably driven it, and your dad knows the car. Its got all the boxes checked on a car I look for. Heck, your dad approves of that car so much he bought it. =) And that is a good looking 5-oh if you ask me.

What's wrong with your current car? If your dad is going to give you his car why not just take that.

I assume if you get a terminator, you get a ~2003 Cobra. A GT wouldn't be worth it for a number of reasons.
Advantages of the terminator:
1. Appreciation. You can probably buy a Cobra right now, and at most lose ~5% of the value of the car in depreciation in the next 2-3 years, and they might appreciate like they have been for the previous 5 years (you could pick up at 2004 Cobra for ~$10,000 in 2010, now they're closer to $15,000+)
2. Parts availability. You have 20 years of interior pieces, parts cars, and lego-like parts that fit, and most of the 2005+ aftermarket engine parts are available for the Terminator as well, but at a lower cost.
3. Insurance. Older mustangs are going to be easier on the insurance than a newer one.
4. Performance. Outside of maybe the Boss 302, the Terminator Cobra would out perform most other mustangs made afterwards, especially with some simple modifications.
The major advantage of the 5.0 is that it will have a known service history and is already available. To justify this, I would calculate the cost of finding a Terminator Cobra, and the cost of risk involved in any parts. Given that your budget is ~$25000 (the cost of finding a good 5.0 from 2011) That means the following:
If the cost of the Cobra (think $18000), plus the cost of hunting for one (think $2000 in time, labor, and transport), plus the cost of the repairs in the first 3 years ($5000, estimate) plus the cost of higher fuel consumption during that time (~$2500) minus the insurance savings (-$~3000). So that's already $28500 in value on this car. Now you have to ask yourself: $25500 vs $25000.
This means the decision lies solely on "Can I find a reliable cobra for less then $18000" and "Is the loss of driving comfort worth the gain in performance?"
You won't really be saving money one way or another.

If yu have ever driven a S197 Mustang that has the 4.0L V6 you would know the horror.

Dat Ranger engine. I'd go with the Terminator. 2011s still had the 4.6, right?

no i haven't driven one and I don't plan on it. slow and inefficient I'm guessing.

2011 has the 5.0L Coyote

Get the Terminator. Yeah, sure, the new Mustang has it beat in the looks department, and is about 200 pounds lighter, but the Cobra will get you:
-About the same horsepower, along with the cool factor of saying your car is supercharged.
-An IRS
-A stick.

It has a limiter of 115mph and even with the bolt ons and tune I have its runs a 15 flat in the 1/4

In that case, what do you prefer? Boost or NA power?

Ya I can agree somewhat there but the auto on the 5.0L isnt that bad.
